Is it poetic justice that in a season marred by players kneeling during the National Anthem, one of the few teams that did not kneel in protest this year won the Super Bowl? The Philadelphia Eagles entire team somehow managed to remain upright during the entire regular season and playoffs. That doesn’t mean that they were devoid of social justice warriors, as Malcolm Jenkins raised his fist during the anthem, then tried to walk it back for Veteran’s Day. With ratings falling to their lowest point since 2009, the NFL’s strategy of backing SJW’s has proved to be an incredibly costly business decision. The fact that no kneeler will get a Super Bowl ring is just icing on the cake.
